OLGR AND ILGA

Dealing with issues at a state government level

After Development approval has been granted at the local government level, the next stage involves a liquor licence being granted or denied at the state government level. The Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) and the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority (ILGA) are the two state government departments that make decisions about liquor licenses. OLGR and ILGA  also deal with alcohol-related disturbances, alcohol promotions and the Responsible Service of Alcohol.

ACAP has a series of Fact Sheets that explain the processes for dealing with different issues and Case studies that put these processes in context.
